Social Media
Social media is essential for a business to communicate and share it's brands to customers in today's world. As common as the good old fashion print adveristment and promitions were back in the day, social media is ever more important because this is where you can capativate millions around the world with a brand. Sites such as Facebook, Twitter, & Snap Chat are key compenents to share a brand and mission with people. This course is perhaps one of the most important I took at UMHB giving my the backbone to be a strong social media marketer. Another course I took that was very similiar to this one in which dived deeper into the analytics of content was called "Marketing Through Social Media".
Marketing Strategy
This course was the most important material i've learned in college pertaining to my entire degree. The skills
I learned in Marketing Strategy gave me insight into how an actual marketing plan is laid out for organizations.
The material learned shed light to the importance of short term and long term goals for business. Value can
be conjured through a sound marketing strategy. The collaboration I had to establish with an actual business client for this class gave me training for real world applications outside of the classroom.
Business Ethics
This course was extermely important in terms of thinking about how I want to conduct myself professionally
in whatever business enviroment i'm apart of in the future. Business ethics was odd in terms of the material learned because there was no PPT slides or tests, but simply class discussion and case analysis.
After learning about real world problems that employees, managers, CEO's, or any other professional have facewithin the workplace helps me use their mistake to shape my own ethical stance.
Communicating In Business
This course taught me the significance of communication in the business world and how it can be a determining factor of success. Clear communication amongst employees, customers, and collaborators is essential for the business to function properly. Rather it be writing emails or constructing memos, the material I learned in the course gave me a clear understanding and foundation for solid communication.
Event Marketing
This marketing oriented course taught me a great deal of useful knowledge peratining to the different steps implemented to market an event of many scales. The major project conducted in this course involved hands on training to establishing a marketing plan that complimented specific types events including concerts, business functions, and social media. Through the project, I learned how to start with a foundation of organizing the marketing for an event all the way to its completion.
Market Research
This was the most vigorous course i've ever taken in my academic career. However, the professor that I had helped us every step of the way to achieve our goals and course objectives. The course was based upon teams conducting market research through quanitative work to help real clients that the University collaborated with. The preparation and ground work constructed to ensure the clients with useful research achieved the goals set forth at the beginning of the semester. The material I learned in this course gave me an understanding of the importance in market research and how organizations can build their brand, strategies, consumer base, etc.. based upon the research.
